We welcome all people into the church premises and we recognise that this means that we have a responsibility, as a church, to make sure everyone feels safe and listened to, this must be the case in all the activities of the church and its workers.
We have teamed up with a Christian organisation that seeks to safeguard people from harm:
Proverbs 31 v 8,9 says “Open your mouth for the mute, for the rights of all who are destitute. Open your mouth, judge righteously, defend the rights of the poor and needy”.
We believe we all have a responsibility to safeguard people we come into contact with from all forms of abuse.
The church follows a safeguarding policy. Please contact us to request this. Any safeguarding question can be raised with Rev. Ian Middlemist who is the safeguarding officer. Or with thirtyoneeight directly, as the policy states. www.thirtyoneeight.org.
Also, through the food bank work, there is safeguarding policy that is followed.
